Meer Electric Helps Hurricane Victims

Meer Electric always tries to help the community in numerous ways. This past October, Meer Electric partnered with Meer Properties U-Haul to provide a truck  to the First Baptist Church of Roswell to take donations to the victims of Hurricane Helene in Ashville, North Carolina. The First Baptist Church of Roswell and many volunteers were able to collect a truck load of supplies including blankets, tents, sleeping bags, heaters, head lamps, and more for the community of Ashville.

In late September 2024, Hurricane Helene developed in the northwestern Caribbean and rapidly intensified as it moved into the Gulf of Mexico. It reached Category 4 strength with sustained winds of approximately 140 mph before making landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region on September 26. The hurricane caused widespread devastation, with strong winds, significant flooding, and power outages affecting areas from Florida through Georgia, the Carolinas, and up into Kentucky. The remnants of Helene continued to bring heavy rainfall and wind as it moved inland, with parts of Tennessee and Kentucky experiencing fallen trees, power outages, and structural damage.

If you are interested in helping victims of Helene, consider donating to Samaritan’s Purse, or helping in other ways.
