This year’s field day featured our 1st ever Roswell North Elementary Education Foundation sponsored Fourth Grade Egg Drop Contest. This is an exciting time for our students celebrating a year of hard work in the classroom. They were busy learning about force and motion in our state-of-the-art Licata Science Lab and they incorporated what they learned, and what they saw through a Myth Buster’s example of force and motion, and built a device from an approved list of materials to encapsulate eggs that they dropped from different heights. The students were very excited to show what they learned. This year the 4th graders competed and dropped their eggs during the regular rotation of Field Day. Peter Meer with Meer Electric was hand with their bucket truck to drop those eggs that survive the first fall from a higher vantage point at the end of the Field Day rotation. Of the 163 enclosures that were constructed, 33 eggs survived both the 10 and 20 foot drops. Of those 33 surviving eggs, only 15 eggs survived the last and final drop from 30 feet at the top of Meer Electric’s bucket truck!! The survivors belonged to: Tylor Hardy, Charlie Tropauer, Keely Goodloe, Melody Amina, Karla Cuadrado, Michael Castor, Abby Smith, Carson Thomason, Kyia Munoz, Angie Sarnz, Raven Morin, Maggie Fason, Mason Williams, Mclaen Ashmead and Isabella Bullock. Congratulations guys!!!
